Sciatica in Marietta
Typical Symptoms
Those with sciatica usually experience the following:
- Hip pain
- A tingling or burning feeling down the leg
- Weakness, numbness, or a difficult time moving the leg or foot
- Continual pain that affects one side of the buttocks
- A shooting pain that makes it uncomfortable to stand up
How Upper Cervical Adjustments Help
Many patients find it strange that an upper cervical adjustment can improve sciatica so quickly. When the head and neck move off center, the entire body compensates with one hip high and the other low when standing. One leg will appear long and the other short while laying. This imbalance in the weight distribution often leads to low back problems and sciatica.
While lower adjustments can sometimes temporarily ease the symptoms, getting to the root cause is key. An upper cervical adjustment often restores the balance to the legs and hips, taking the pressure off the sciatic nerve. We find that most patients notice immediate relief or at least within 24 hours.
What One Patient Had to Say
“Dr. Berner took the time to explain why my sciatic pain could actually be coming from my neck. My previous doctors only focused on my lower spine and I’d get temporary relief but no lasting results. Seeing the detailed X-rays allowed me to see why my low back and sciatic issues were just a symptom of a larger issue. After my first upper cervical adjustment I felt some immediate improvement and things have continued to get better since.”
